NOTICE: Extraordinary General Meeting: Monday 17th September
We will be holding a short EGM at our second meeting when the committee will table a revised Club Constitution. The main change is to remove reference to on-line banking and wording that was included to meet the requirements of the lottery bid; this situation no longer applies.
Copies of the proposed Constitution will be available at the meeting on the 3rd of September and will emailed out to all members who register on the night.

Monday 3rd September The start of the new club season is fast approaching and we are looking forward to welcoming members old and new to our Registration Event. The evening will be relaxed and informal but there will be plenty to see and do and lots of coffee and biscuits! We have some ideas for workshops and activities that we would like to share with you and, of course, get your input. Do you want to get a grip of the basics, set fire to things, throw water over people, sit on a wet beach waiting for the moon to come out or have a relaxed stroll around a nature reserve? What do you fancy having a go at? What do you need help with? Now is your chance to tell us. We will be inviting you to pick a favourite print from the displays we are putting together and you can meet up with people who share interests and get some crafty tips from the authors to try out for yourself. If you took thousands of photos over the summer (not mentioning any names but you know who you are!) and you are overwhelmed by the task of sifting through them, then we have a fast track editing tip for you – but you’ll have to come along and find out what it is! So, if you haven't attended a registration evening for a while then do come along. In the meantime: dust off your camera, charge up your batteries, polish the lenses and get shooting! We look forward to seeing you! |
PROGRAMME EXTRA:
Monday 10th September We are planning an introductory evening to welcome new members to the club. So, if you are thinking of joining, or perhaps joined recently, why not come along so that we can help you get the best from your membership right from the start.
Everybody is welcome, all we ask is that you please register your interest so that we can be ready for you.

Big Butterfly Count - throughout August Do your bit for conservation anytime up until the end of August. All you need to do is download the checklist, pick a spot on a sunny day and count how many different species you see in a 15-minute period. Download your results on the Big Butterfly Count website. Now here comes the rub. There are three different types of 'cabbage' white and the little blighters don't sit still long enough to spot the distinguishing marks. So, our tip.....photograph them and then complete the I.D. This cracking shot was taken by Carl's granddaughter Eleanor aged 12, using a simple compact camera on 'auto'. Granddad is going to give it a go! |

Illuminations Gala As usual, there will be a funfair on the seafront all weekend and the crowd-pulling night time procession will once again leave West Park on Sunday 26th August at 8:30pm to its destination at the Pier from where the Grand Finale Fireworks Display will light-up the skies at 10pm. |
SUNDAY 19th August
Middleton Summer Fete EXHIBITION We hosted an exhibition space in our marquee on the field, featuring a wide variety of prints from many members. The weather was a bit challenging. We had windy conditions in the morning, which made the tent erection rather exciting, so it was a good job we had loads of volunteers! Then came the drizzle, which lasted throughout the morning and, finally, the sun came out so we got everything dried and packed away for another year. It was lovely to see so many old friends who popped along to say 'Hello' and we had the chance to talk to new people who are interested in joining. Add a few sales and it was a pretty good day all in all. Here's to next year! |
SUNDAY 5th August
Bognor Regis Bandstand
Pop-Up EXHIBITION We had a cracking day down on the prom. and the weather couldn't have been better. Six members presented their work and another six came along to help us set up and support us during the day. We had an excellent variety of work on display and engaged with lots of visitors as they passed through for a look. Special thanks to Carl who had worked all week to provide a solution to stop the wind wrecking the prints, it couldn't have gone ahead without a fix. To top it off, we had excellent music from Molly and Mark. These very able violinists entertained us with a repertoire that ranged from from Amadeus to Abba! Maybe just have to do it all again soon.....watch this space! |
