AGM 2019
A quick reminder that the AGM is on the 3rd of June and, this year, it will take a slightly different and streamlined format. There will be just two reports, the Chairman's Address (summarising all aspects of the Club year) and a full Treasurer's Report. This will give us more time to discuss important issues and to allow ample time to enjoy and celebrate the Annual Awards.......did YOU get one?????
FYI: The club accounts are now out for audit and a summary will be emailed to you by the 27th May along with the agenda and previous minutes.

PROGRAMME 2018 - 2019 |
REGIONAL COMPETITIONS In addition to the Club Programme we will be encouraging you to participate in a number of external competitions with our neighbouring clubs and affiliated regional groups: Surrey Photographic Association (SPA) and Sussex Photographic Federation (SxPF). The call for prints/PDIs will be posted on the News page, the newsletter and at meetings so do come forward with your images - the more the merrier. Judging comes down to individual preference (and judges can be fickle) so don't be put off by a lower score - the next judge might give it an award! We want to include as many members as possible and everybody is welcome to participate, so don't be shy! KNOCK-OUT COMPETITIONS Knock-out competitions are typically print competitions run with a series of heats. Prints are submitted by members on the night and 'shuffled' up. Two are picked at random and presented side by side. Members vote on their favourite, which then goes through to the next heat. At the end, only two pictures are left and a winner is selected. Knock-out prints remain eligible for entry into a formal competition. |
Chairman's Challenge Monday 15th April This year the challenge will take the form of a print panel on the theme of 'MOVEMENT'. Find three prints that are somehow linked and look good together as a set. You might link the images by topic, content, colour, shape....anything so long as they are harmonious and in tune with the theme - check the rules for specific requirements. MSW Shield COMPETITION Middleton vs. Selsey & Witterings Monday 4th March This is an annual competition with each club selecting 20 entries. You will be invited to submit images for consideration and the more the merrier. Let's see if we can bring it home for a 4th year! MIX & MATCH COMPETITION Middleton vs. Bognor & Littlehampton Monday 3rd December These are informal events which encourage the use of those photographs that don't usually see the light of day! The idea is that two or more teams hold a 'hand' of about 40 different pictures - the whackier the better! One team leads and projects a picture, the other team(s) have 30 seconds to match the image -the match is colour, form, interpretation etc. The judge will decide whether the match is achieved or not (with some 'encouragement' from the audience!). In the month prior to each Mix & Match event you will be invited to send in your photos - try to find some that might be hard to match. Tuck a few away now then you'll be ready! Mix & Match prints remain eligible for entry into a formal competition. |
