CHAIRMAN'S CHALLENGE 2017-2018
The challenge set for this season by our
Chairman, Alan Fitzgerald is
'Seen Better Days'
This will be a PDI competition and follow the standard rules for submission. Those are the only rules, the rest is only limited by your imagination!
Prints entered into this competition will be eligible for entry into the PDI of the Year Competition
MIX & MATCH COMPETITIONS
These are informal events which encourage the use of those photographs that don't usually see the light of day!
The idea is that two or more teams hold a 'hand' of about 40 different pictures - the whackier the better! One team leads and projects a picture, the other team have 30-seconds to match the image -the match is colour, form, interpretation etc. The judge will decide whether the match is achieved or not (with some 'encouragement' from the audience!).
In the month prior to each Mix & Match event you will be invited to send in your photos - try to find some that might be hard to match. Tuck a few away now then you'll be ready!
Mix & Match prints remain eligible for entry into a formal competition.
THEMED COMPETITION 2017-2018
Each year, one of the standard competitions is assigned a theme and for this season the theme is DANGER!
This will be a Print competition and entries will follow the usual print rules.
Theme images are eligible for entry into the PDI of the Year.
Knock-out competitions are typically print competitions run with a series of heats. Prints are submitted by members on the night and 'shuffled' up. Two are picked at random and presented side by side. Members vote on their favourite, which then goes through to the next heat. At the end, only two pictures are left and a winner is selected.
Knock-out prints remain eligible for entry into a formal competition.
