Print of the Year 'Cariad on the Dam' by Malcolm Barnett
AIMS Apparatus: Canon EOS 6D with 24-105mm f/4L at 58mm
ISO 400
f/10
1/80 sec
Inspiration: Marion and I had a full day's shoot with Cariad in South Wales, mainly outdoor nude shots. It had clouded over and we had a drop of rain so the sky was dull and uninteresting but it did give a nice flat lighting. We had just finished a session on the dam, dodging the showers and walkers, and Cariad had dressed ready to move on to the next location. She looked great in the hooded jacket so I had a quick session with her taking half a dozen images of which this turned out to be my favourite. The unplanned shot can often be the best.
Manipulation: Very little, adjustment of highlights, shadows, colour temperature and a crop.

PDI of the Year 'Teach you for getting married in August' by Trevor Staff
AIMS Apparatus:Nikon D750
100th sec
f13
ISO 400
Inspiration: This was a grab shot taken at a friends daughters wedding. As we were all leaving the church to go to the reception, there was short sudden downpour. Everybody, including me, ran for shelter but, as I did so, Lyn looked back, spotted an opportunity and I nailed the shot! The decisive moment.
Manipulation Cropped to a letterbox and changed to B&W to emphasise the rain or was it hail! I fiddled a bit with contrast and clarity to make sure there was a good tonal range and detail in both highlights and shadows. Note, the professional photographer had abandoned his tripod and run for the hills!

Camera: Canon 60D
I was lying by the pool people watching when one of the many hunks braved the cold water. I very quickly took the photo whilst his back was turned.
