1st Place
'The Sisters' by Rita English AIMS
Apparatus - Canon D5 mk3
Inspiration Yes, I could do with some! It did help that I had a very wiling model prepared to try (almost) anything that I could throw at her. Manipulation Although I enjoy taking photos, I have more fun with my shots once I get them into Photoshop and this was no exception. Actually a combination of two frames with a filter added for background effect. Previous competition results can be viewed by accessing the links at the bottom of each competition page.

2nd Place
'Into Oblivion' by Lyn Phillips AIMS
Apparatus: Sony A7 II (NEW TOY!!!)
Inspiration: Yup new camera, new travel location and lots of new inspiration! We visited Utah and stayed outside the national parks (cheapskates!) so that meant many early journeys across the most amazing countryside. This shot was inspired by the very low angle of the dawn sun, which highlighted the mist in the valleys and the roadside vegetation. Manipulation: I cropped to a letterbox, making sure the road lead into the shot from the corner. I did darken the sky a little to keep the focus on the foreground and fiddled with the brightness to avoid burning out the sunlight. Not sure what else I did as, being a 'fiddler', every slider in Lightroom gets a bit of a poke just to see what happens! 3rd Place
'Minimalist Seafront' by Trevor Staff AIMS
Apparatus: Nikon D750
Inspiration: Taken on a wet day on Bexhill seafront. Manipulation: Cropped in Lightroom, played with the tone and colours. There was a large green poster obscuring the left hand side of the barriers. I edited this out in Photoshop to just leave a minimalist seascape.
